Dyestat.com Previews this year’s Simplot Games.  Once again this year, the Throw 1 Deep team from Georgia will be making the trip to Pocatello, Idaho.

As indisputable owners of the throwing events at the Simplot Games, the Throw 1 Deep club from Georgia is always a highlight waiting to happen, but there are two especially captivating performers expecting to drop bombs on the Pocatello crowd this year … Junior Shelby Ashe (St. Pius X, Atlanta Ga.) was not even on the T1D crew which traveled to Pocatello last winter, but she’s currently US#1 with a 60-05.75 and will almost certainly be hunting Flowers’ mark on Thursday evening in the weight throw competition.  

Ashe’s club teammate and McIntosh (Peachtree City, Ga.) senior Davis Fraker is the other Throw1Deep member who bears close watching this weekend. Conor McCullough’s monster 93-03.25 USR in the weight throw is probably safe, but after a US record of his own last week with the 35-lb. weight, who knows what Fraker can do with the 25-lb. implement? He’s currently US#2 with a throw of 78-10.25 in a runner-up effort to list leader Alec Faldermeyer at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, but a mark well past 80-feet seems possible on Thursday…
