Chicagoland Throws Series (IL) Results

customLogoThe final Chicagoland throws series of the season took place yesterday with several high school throwers from across the country taking part. While US champions Amanda Bingson and Kibwé Johnson won the hammer throw competitions, the high schoolers competed right along side. The top four high school throwers competed in the women’s competition with US junior champion Haley Showalter (Valor Christian, Highlands Ranch, CO) coming out on top. She was also sixth place overall with her throw of 56.37m (184-11).

In the boy’s competition, Colin Minor (South Brunswick, Southport, NC) 70.82m (232-04) threw a personal best to place as the highest high school thrower, set a new North Carolina state record, and move up to second place on the national list. Now he sits just a few feet behind national leader Daniel Haugh (St. Pius X, Atlanta, GA), who was also in the competition. Complete results are available on the meet’s homepage.
