Junior Jordan McClendon (John Borroughs, St. Louis, MO) led the way with a big improvement at the latest meet in Missouri’s Throw For The Road Hammer Series. McClendon added more than seven feet to her personal best with a new mark of 48.96 meters (160-07). She also became the 18th thrower to break 160 feet this year nationwide. Cecilya Johnson (Lutheran South, St. Louis, MO) also had a big impromevemtn competing with the lighter 3-kilogram hammer. She added five fee to her best and tossed 50.66 meters (166-02).
In the boy’s competitions Patrick Kunza (Timberland, Wentzville, MO) had a pair of personal bests. First he threw 49.78 meters (163-04) with the 6-kilogram hammer, which also nearly eclipsed his best with the lighter 12-pound hammer. He then returned to add three feet to his best with the 16-pound hammer by throwing 44.06 meters (144-07).
