Now Accepting Applications For 2015 Youth Hammer Throw Grants

It’s that time of the year again. The USATF Foundation Youth Hammer Throw Fund is now accepting applications for their 2015 grants, supported by the USATF Foundation. Since being started in 2005 by Olympic champion Harold Connolly, the USATF Foundation Youth Hammer Throw Grants Program has been dedicated to helping young hammer throwers across the country obtain the resources they need to succeed.

The most recent grants were awarded to top US throwers like Haley Showalter, Colin Minor, and Adam Kelly. But they were just a few among the 22 athletes selected. Thanks to generous donations from supporters of the hammer throw, the program has awarded more than $39,000 to 86 youth hammer throwers (43 boys and 43 girls) since 2005 with awards ranging from $100 to $1,000. The monetary amounts and number of grants awarded are determined by the available balance in the USATF Foundation Youth Hammer Fund and the decision of the grants committee.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. Be sure to submit your application by November 30, 2014 and we look forward to reviewing it. Due to some administrative issues the processing of the applications for 2013 unfortunately took a long time. However with some changes in the review process, we hope to announce the winners around New Year’s.
