M-F Athletic Invitational (OH) Results

Grace Rigel (Leipsic, OH) broke 50 feet for the first time to win Sunday’s M-F Athletic Invitational in Ohio. The meet featured some close competitions, especially on the boy’s side where sophomore Tyler Arbaugh (Van Buren, OH) won by just one inch over Erik Fertig (Eastwood, Pemberville, OH). Read more

Michigan Indoor Track Series State Championship Results

Junior Alex VanDeWeght (Ithaca, MI) and sophomore Aliyah Boeve (Zeeland East, MI) both set personal bests to win at this year’s Michigan Indoor Track Series State Championship hosted by Saginaw Valley State University. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 1 (WA) Results

The outdoor season kicked off in the northwest over the weekend, with the first meet in the season-long Centralia hammer series taking place. Jordan Fong (Kentlake, WA) and Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Yelm, WA) took home the wins, with Carissa Stovall (Yelm, WA) and Hadassah Ward (Gig Harbor, WA) also making big jumps forward with throws of over 130 feet. Rhode Island Indoor State Championships Results

Gianna Rao (Ponaganset, North Scituate, RI) easily won the women’s competition, but fell just short of the state meet record she set last year. A strong first round attempt was enough to secure the win for the national leader, with all of her legal attempts farther than the competition. Annika Kelly (Barrington, RI) added more than a foot to her best to take second and Joangely Mata (Mt. Pleasant, Providence, RI) was just a quarter inch off of her best in third. Read more

Simplot Games (ID) Results

National leader Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) easily took the win in the boy’s competition, but one of the highlights of the competition came from Carter Hughes (Sidney, MT). In his first time throwing the weight he hit 62’1.25″ to take second place. Alyssa Workman (Tualatin, OR) also was just off her best en route to winning the girl’s competition. Read more

Dunamis Super Meet (GA) Results

The Throw 1 Deep training group made a strong showing at on Friday at the Dunamis Super Meet. Having the rare chance to compete indoors in Georgia, they made the most of it with two wins and over 20 athletes entering the competition. Kyle Brown (West Forsyth, Cumming, GA) edged closer to 70 feet after throwing a two foot personal best for the boy’s win. Javon Joyner (Norcross, GA), currently ranked second in the country, was just a foot off of her best to easily secure the win in the girl’s competition. Read more

Elite Performance Meet (RI) Results

After hovering just below 70 feet all season, state leader Garrett Doyle (Lincoln, RI) finally beat the mark at Thursday’s Elite Performance Meet in Rhode Island. With a new best of 71 feet in the third round, he easily outpaced the field and surpassed the barrier. In the girl’s competition Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) won with a come-from-behind effort in the final round. Read more

Rhode Island Class Championships Results

Gianna Rao (Ponaganset, North Scituate, RI) unleashed a monster of a throw at the Rhode Island Class Championships to take the national lead. Her fifth round attempt of 63’2″ added more than three feet to her season’s best and a foot to her personal best from last March. It easily secured the victory in the Medium Class, and also counted as a facility record, meet record, state record, and New England record. Joangely Mata (Mt. Pleasant, Providence, RI) and Jianna Peno (Rogers, Newport, RI) both also threw personal bests to win the Large and Small Class championships respectively. Read more

University of Washington High School Invitational (WA) Results

Nation leader Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) came just inches away from setting a new national record on Friday at the University of Washington High School Invitational. He easily won with a throw of 83’0.25″ that capped off a consistent series with all six throws over 78’9″. He also added more than 10 feet to the meet record. Shelby Moran (Sherwood, OR) led a strong contingent of Oregon throwers by capturing the girl’s title, also just inches off of her best. Read more

Millrose Games (NY) Results

Joseph Benedetto (John S. Burke Catholic, Goshen, NY) added nearly five feet to his personal best on Thursday to take the come from behind win at this year’s Millrose Games. Benedetto started out the competition with several personal bests, but Garret Doyle (Lincoln, RI) led entering the fifth round. Then Benedetto added another 3 feet to his best to move into the lead and secure the win. In the girl’s competition Gianna Rao (Ponaganset, North Scituate, RI) threw a season’s best to win by nearly 11 feet. Read more
