The latest Throwhawks meet in Connecticut featured several improvements, especially in he girl’s competition. Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) once again captured the win, with Trinity Cardillo (Southington, CT) adding 15 feet to her personal best in second place and Madison McGloin (Barrington, RI) also breaking 160 feet for the first time in third.

State leaders Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) and Logan Coles (Woonsocket, RI) both took home wins at the RITCA Mini Meet 2 in Providence last week. The boy’s competition in particular featured some strong depth, with fourth place finisher John Fay (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) even adding more than 10 feet to his best. Read more
Defending national champion Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) opened his season recently with a national lead. Then, in his second meet, not only extended the national lead three more times, but he took down the national record as well. Read more
After a long delay, several Rhode Island throwers finally got to make their season debut last weekend. Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) had a massive breakthrough to win the Throwhawks Mini Meet, adding nearly 20 feet to her best from last season. Logan Coles (Woonsocket, RI) was also just a foot off of his best from 2019 to capture the win at the boy’s win. Both performances are national leads. Read more
National leader Monique Hardy (Webster Thomas, Webster, NY) easily captured the New York state title on Saturday in a stacked girl’s competition. Three of the nation’s top five were competing and three girls broke 55 feet in the competition. Some big personal bests highlighted the boy’s competition. Nick Pisciotta (Commack, NY) hit 75 feet for the first time to win, and Jayden DuBard (Cheektowaga, NY) added more than four feet to his best for silver. Read more
Senior Henry Zimmerman (New Albany, OH) added nearly four feet to his personal best and challenged the state meet record en route to dominating the Ohio State Championships on Saturday. Zimmerman won the Division I competition by nearly ten feet, while Emma Kowalski (Hilliard Darby, Hilliard, OH) improved her best to win the girl’s title. The Division II/III competition also had some fine results, with Ella Rige (Leipsic, OH) and Tyler Arbaugh (Van Buren, OH) coming out on top. Read more
Rhode Island state leaders Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) and Kyle Moison (Lincoln, RI) both took home another win at this year’s Weightarama meet on Tuesday. Moison and Logan Coles (Woonsocket, RI) also made their season debut with the heavier 35-pound weight and notched big improvements compared to the 2019 season. Logan Coles (Woonsocket, RI) and Kyle Moison (Lincoln, RI) continued their back-and-forth battle at the New England Weight Throw Championships on Wednesday. Moison took home the win with a personal best at the Rhode Island State Championships earlier this month and led through the start of the competition on Wednesday as well. But a final round improvement by Coles secured the win and came within an inch of his personal best. In the girl’s competition Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) broke the 12 year old meet record and came within three inches of her personal best. Read more
National leader Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) once again broke 80 feet on Saturday, but it was Jayden White (Everett, WA) who stole the show at Saturday’s UW High School Invitational in Seattle. The senior continues to impress in his first season throwing the weight. He added another three feet to his personal best in the competition. Ava David (Lake Oswego, OR) was close to her personal best in winning the girl’s competition. Read more
Zoe Vlk (Wilson Central, Lebanon, TN) continued her hot streak over the weekend. Last week she moved up to fifth in the nation with a big improvement. On Saturday she edged out a narrow win to earn the Tennessee indoor state championship. In the boy’s competition Tristan Boatman (Jefferson County, Dandridge, TN) extended his state lead by a foot and a half en route to winning the title. Read more
