OATCCC Indoor State Championship (OH) Results

Senior Henry Zimmerman (New Albany, OH) added nearly four feet to his personal best and challenged the state meet record en route to dominating the Ohio State Championships on Saturday. Zimmerman won the Division I competition by nearly ten feet, while Emma Kowalski (Hilliard Darby, Hilliard, OH) improved her best to win the girl’s title. The Division II/III competition also had some fine results, with Ella Rige (Leipsic, OH) and Tyler Arbaugh (Van Buren, OH) coming out on top. Read more

Michigan Indoor State Championships Results

Eli Winter (Alpena, MI) and Brooke Coulter (Rochester, MI) both took home wins at last weekend’s Michigan Indoor State Championships. Coulter was just off of her personal best, while Winter broke the 11 year old meet record. Read more

Oklahoma Throws Series Meet 3 Results

On Saturday, Samantha Kunza (Timberland, Wentzville, MO) briefly lost the national lead as Annika Kelly (Barrington, RI) set a new Rhode Island record at the Mt. Pleasant Invitational. On Sunday, Kunza responded with a new best of her own at the Oklahoma Throws Series Meet 3. All five of her legal throws were over her season’s best. In the end she added 10 feet to her season’s best and her best attempt of 197’9″ finally improved upon her personal best set last season. Her new mark also makes her the eighth high school athlete ever to break 60 meters. Sophomore Bailey Tilley) (Jenks, OK) also had a strong performance and set the national lead with the 3-kilogram hammer. Ian Hammock (Iberia, MO) won the boy’s competition with a personal best as well. Read more

OATCCC Indoor State Championship (OH) Results

Senior Chris Burkhart (Hilliard Darby, Hilliard, OH) added nearly two feet to his best to take the upset at the OATCCC Indoor Track Championships on Saturday. Burkart had just the fourth best mark in the state entering the competition, but broke 70 feet for the first time in round three to secure the win. State leader Tyler Arbauch (Van Buren, OH) won the Division 2/3 title. Burkhart’s teammate Emma Kowalski (Hilliard Darby, Hilliard, OH) won the girl’s Division 1 competition, adding three feet to her best. The mark also moves her into the nation’s top 10. Kaila Barr (Waverly, OH) also had a big best to win Division 2/3, with her best mark just inches off Kowalski’s standard. Read more

MITS Indoor State Championships (MI) Results

Alex VanDeWeghe (Ithaca, MI) defended his state title and added nearly a foot to his best at the 2019 Michigan Indoor Track Series State Championship. Aliyah Boeve (Zeeland East, MI) was also a repeat winner, with a two foot best to easily capture the girl’s title. Read more

Mizzou HS Series #2 (MO) Results

Chandler Hayden (Pittsfield, IL) competed in her first indoor meet of the season on Sunday at the Mizzou HS Series #2. The senior easily won with a throw of 57’2.25″, good enough to place her in the nation’s top three this season and just one foot shy of her personal best from 2018. Samantha Kunza (Timberland, Wentzville, MO), the nation’s top returner in the hammer throw, also made her season debut in second place, while Jordan Johnson (Quincy, IL) broke 60 feet for the first time to win the boy’s competition. USATF Junior National Championships (IN) Results

Qualification for next month’s World Junior Championship was on the line this weekend at the USATF Junior Championships in Indiana. The top two athletes were eligible to qualify as long as they have met the minimum qualifying standard. With his winning throw of 68.03 meters, Michael Feldman just broke the men’s standard by 3 centimeters. His brother Steven took second place. In the girl’s competition, Alyssa Wilson led from start to finish with Jill Shippee in second. Both have easily surpassed the barrier and are among the world’s best in the event this year. Shelby Moran (Sherwood, OR) was the top high school finisher in sixth place, just one foot off of her personal best. Read more

Michigan Indoor Track Series State Championship Results

Junior Alex VanDeWeght (Ithaca, MI) and sophomore Aliyah Boeve (Zeeland East, MI) both set personal bests to win at this year’s Michigan Indoor Track Series State Championship hosted by Saginaw Valley State University. Read more

USATF National Junior Olympic Championships (KS) Results

The USATF National Junior Olympic Championships took place early in the week with 148 throwers across two age groups making the trip to Kansas. Danielle Gregory (Liberty, Wentzville, MO) was the big highlight of the competition with a new Junior Olympic age group record of 167’9″. Despite competing in the younger 15-16 year old age group she produce the best girl’s mark across both age groups. There were several other impressive performances including a 10 foot best by Mya Muse (Vestal, NY) to win the 17-18 year old age group. Read more

USATF Youth Outdoor Championships (IL) Results

Just a few days after the USATF Junior Championships in Sacramento, the USATF National Youth Outdoor Championships took place in Illinois on Monday with athletes competing across several age groups. Throw1Deep throwers from Georgia swept the 17-18 year old category with wins from Shannah Mallett (Creekview, Canton, GA ) and Jason Judge (Walton, Marietta, GA). In the younger age group, freshman Abby Venglass (Rancho Cucamonga, Etiwanda, CA) threw a personal best for the win, while Joseph Ryan (Massapequa, NY) was also a winner. Read more
