USATF Junior Olympic National Championships (NC) Results

A total of 148 competitors from around the country competed on Monday and Tuesday at the USATF Junior Olympic National Championships in North Carolina. Individuals qualified through 16 regional competitions that took place earlier in the month. Read more

New Balance Nationals Outdoor (NC) Championship Results

After starting the Emerging Elite competition earlier this weekend, the Championship action got underway Saturday night and Sunday morning at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. National leader Samantha Kunza (Timberland, Wentzville, MO) led from start to finish to win the title in the Championship division at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. Her victory was not without some drama though, as Monique Hardy (Webster Thomas, Webster, NY) added an amazing personal best of nearly 30 feet to come within five inches of the win. Annika Kelly (Barrington, RI) capture third. In the boy’s competition Jacob Furland (Classical, Providence, RI) won by just six inches over a personal best from Max McKhann (Dana Hills, Dana Point, CA). In fact, five of the top six boys left the competition with a new personal best. Read more

New Balance Nationals Outdoor (NC) Emerging Elite Results

New Balance National Outdoors started on Friday and Saturday morning with the Emerging Elite competition. Ridvan Kazimov (South Forsyth, Cumming, GA) added three feet to his personal best to win by mere inches in the boy’s competition. Hannah Jackson (Kell, Marietta, GA) added four feet to her best for the girl’s win. The action continues through Sunday with the championship section finals. Read more

Start lists released for New Balance Nationals Outdoor

A total of 160 competitors are ready to compete at this weekends New Balance Nationals Outdoor in North Carolina. The Emerging Elite competition will start on Friday with the boys and girls on Saturday. Saturday evening the boy’s championships will take place, followed by the girl’s championship on Sunday. The complete start lists are below, including seven of the nation’s top 10 throwers in the boy’s competition. On the girl’s side, national leader Samantha Kunza (Timberland, Wentzville, MO) will lead the way, with four of the nation’s top 10 throwers competing. Read more

Georgia State Hammer Championships Results

State leaders Kyle Brown (West Forsyth, Cumming, GA) and Shannah Mallett (Creekview, Canton, GA) captured the wins over the weekend at the Georgia State Hammer Championships. Read more

Tennessee State Indoor Championships Results

Tennessee is one of the several states that now contests the weight throw at its state championship, with this year’s edition taking place last Sunday. Junior Jeremiah Sullivan (Daniel Boone, Gray, TN) made his weight throw debut in style, winning his first Tennessee state championship by more than three meters and nearly breaking 60 feet. Sophomore Victoria Caldwell (Brentwood Academy, Brentwood, TN) was also victorious in the girl’s competition. Read more

Dunamis Super Meet (GA) Results

The Throw 1 Deep training group made a strong showing at on Friday at the Dunamis Super Meet. Having the rare chance to compete indoors in Georgia, they made the most of it with two wins and over 20 athletes entering the competition. Kyle Brown (West Forsyth, Cumming, GA) edged closer to 70 feet after throwing a two foot personal best for the boy’s win. Javon Joyner (Norcross, GA), currently ranked second in the country, was just a foot off of her best to easily secure the win in the girl’s competition. Read more

KYA High School Indoor Classic (TN) Results

Some of Georgia’s top throwers travelled north to Eastern Tennessee State University this weekend. At the KYA High School Indoor Classic, Tanner Duffin (Chamblee, GA) moved into the nation’s top five with a big indoor improvement. Kyle Brown (West Forsyth, Cumming, GA) also improved just inches behind him. National leader Javon Joyner (Norcross, GA) was off of her top form, but still easily won. Victoria Solheim (Paulding County, Dallas, GA) also broke 50 feet for the first time to move into the nation’s top 10. Read more

Evan Hardin (Harrison, Kennesaw, GA) and Makenli Forrest (Woodward Academy, College Park, GA) took home the titles at the Georgia State Hammer Championships held earlier this month. Read more

New Balance Nationals (NC) Championship Results

After a strong indoor season with the weight where he missed out on the indoor national title by just two inches, shot putter Jordan Geist (Cabot, PA) won New Balance Nationals Outdoors in spectacular fashion. In his first hammer meet of his career, four of his five throws were long enough to win. His best mark of 238’09” won by 25 feet, is a new national lead and is tied for the 12th best mark all-time. He also won in the shot put where, as in the hammer, his best throw came in the final round. Jacob Wickey (Medina, OH) took second place with a personal best, while former national leader Michael Feldman (Tottenville, Staten Island, NY) finished in third. Read more
