Empire State Games Trials (NY)
Walter Henning threw a new personal best and Junior class record at the Empire State Games trials today. The meet, held at Farmingdal High School, was the qualifying competitiong for New York’s Olympic style fesitval to be held in July. Henning threw 252’06” with the high school implement and then returned to 210’11” with the 16# hammer. The first mark merely nine inches short of the national record. The latter mark is the second-best all-time with the heavier hammer.
