5/15/08 U.S. High School Hammer List
There are a lot of improvements in this week performance list. Four of the top eight boys improved, including Mike Gama (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI), Mitchell Gormley (Brookwood, Snellville, GA), Patrick Onye (Classical, Providence, RI ), and Mark Conklin (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI).
On the girl’s side, Allison Horner (Lovett, Marietta, GA), Lauren Chambers (Kell, Marietta, GA), and Victoria Flowers (Classical, Providence, RI) all surpassed the Kraychir sisters to sit at the top of the list. Horner’s performance is especially notable as it is the second longest American high school throw ever behind Maureen Griffin (Pocatello, ID) who threw 201’07” in 1998, and third on the U.S. high school history behind Griffin and Jennifer Dahlgren (Argentina/Klein High School, TX) who threw 195’02” in 2002.
