New York Indoor Championships Results

Last summer the New York State Public High School Athletic Association announced that the weight throw would be added to this year’s indoor track and field championships. And on Saturday, New York weight throwers got the chance to battle for the title of state champion for the first time. The titles ended up going to senior Eric Sheng (Syosset, NY) and junior Monae Cooper (New Rochelle, NY). Sheng won a very close competition over Nate Sander (Warwick Valley, Warwick, NY), while Cooper added a few inches to her personal best en route to the win over Mariah Mays (Rome Free Academy, Rome, NY).
