Ohio State Division I Championships Results

ohio-track-and-cross-country-coaches-association-logo3The Ohio State Indoor Championships started off with a bang. On her first attempt Kaylee Antill (Tri-Valley, Dresden, OH) took the national lead with a two foot personal best. She followed that up with two more throws at or beyond her old best before ending the competition with two fouls but a healthy margin of victory. Shoshana Isis Trotman (Centerville, OH) turned in a solid performance and personal best for second place, but was more than eight feet behind Antill.

The boy’s competition was a shootout with little more than two feet separating the top five throwers. But it was sophomore Jake Wickey (Medina, OH) who suprisingly led from start to finish. He ended with a four foot personal best of 72-05.75 to edge out fellow sophomore Nick Lane (Bowling Green, OH). With such deep results, Ohio now has six throwers among the nation’s top thirteen. And with none of the podium finisher graduating this year, the state should only get stronger in the future.

The Division II/III competition took place later in the day. Click here for results and a recap.
