4/30/15 U.S. High School Hammer List
Jacob Beene (Gilbert, AZ) and Haley Showalter (Valor Christian, Highlands Ranch, CO) were the biggest movers on this week’s national performance lists. As highlighted yesterday, Showalter made her outdoor season debut and now sits in second place nationally, just five inches out of the national lead. Beene debuted already in March, but improved again last week to become the third boy over 230 feet this season. Also kicking off her season was Kamryn Brinson (Marist, Atlanta, GA). She starts 2015 just under her best from last season and already in fourth on the national list. Courtney Jacobsen (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) was also among the movers in the top 10 with a new personal best.

Although the 3k hammer (girls) and 5k hammer (boys) throw are not normally contested
in the U.S. it is conducted in some meets at the Youth level. Girls 3k performances
of 140’ and boys’ 5k performances of 160’ or more in an officially sanctioned
meet will be included in the performance list providing the athlete is no older than
17 years old through December 31, 2015 (born no earlier than in 1998).
