5/07/15 U.S. High School Hammer List
There was lots of movement in the girl’s national performance list last week, with six improvements in the top 10. Leading the way was a new nation-leading mark from Sabrina Gaitan (Sprayberry, Marietta, GA). Gaitan added four feet to her best. Also moving up to third was Kaylee Antill (Tri-Valley, Dresden, OH) who added more than a dozen feet to her best at the John Glenn Invitational. On the boy’s list Cameron Thompson (Lakeland/Panas, Cortlandt, NY) and Michael Feldman (Tottenville, Staten Island, NY) moved up to tenth and eleventh rank nationally after some big improvements last week. Thompson added 16 feet to his best and Feldman more than 10 feet as both athletes came very close to the 200-foot barrier.

Although the 3k hammer (girls) and 5k hammer (boys) throw are not normally contested
in the U.S. it is conducted in some meets at the Youth level. Girls 3k performances
of 140’ and boys’ 5k performances of 160’ or more in an officially sanctioned
meet will be included in the performance list providing the athlete is no older than
17 years old through December 31, 2015 (born no earlier than in 1998).
