Schomp Invitational (RI) Results

Bobby Colantonio (Barrington, RI) was just inches off of his best to win the Schomp Invitational on Saturday. Colantonio, the 2015 national leader, oscillated between sector fouls and monster throws at the meet. He finished with three throws over 230 feet and three left sector fouls. His best effort of 237’11” in round two was just eight inches off of his personal best set two weeks ago. In the girl’s competition Courtney Jacobsen (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) hit a new best for the second straight week, this time adding more than eight feet to her mark in the first round. She faced some strong competition, the top for throwers all hit bests, but proved even stronger as all four of her legal throws were equal or better than the field.
