Sons of Italy Boys Throwing Championships (RI) Results

In the final meet of the 2015 season for throwers in the northeast, Adam Kelly (Barrington, RI) was once again the star. So far this season he has won the New Balance Indoor and New Balance Outdoor championship title, and in the last meet of his high school career he has extended his personal best even further. In round five of the Sons of Italy meet he notched a throw of 245’4″, an improvement of more than two feet on his pervious best. The mark also puts him ahead of teammate Bobby Colantonio (Barrington, RI) and in first position on the national list. Furthermore it moves him into a tie for 5th on the all-time US list.

Kelly came back later in the day and also took the win in the junior 6-kilogram competition with another solid performance. Colantonio, meanwhile competed only in the 16-pound hammer competition and set a new nation lead with an impressive throw of 210’7″. The girl’s competition will take place on Thursday.
