Rhode Island Indoor State Championships Results

Another meet, another win for Bobby Colantonio (Barrington, RI). Colantonio captured his first ever indoor state title on Saturday, just two days after winning the Millrose Games in New York. Jared Brier (Woonsocket, RI) took second and Abraham Salako (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) added nearly three feet to his personal best to make it onto the podium.

Unlike the boy’s competition, the girl’s competition wasa extremely close. Lysah Russell (Classical, Providence, RI) won by just six inches, however she was quite consistent and produced three throws good enough for the win. State leader and pre-meet favorite Courtney Jacobsen (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) placed second and Meagan Malloy (Smithfield, Esmond, RI) added more than a foot to her personal best for third place.
