3/31/16 U.S. High School Hammer List

While the outdoor season has not begun everywhere yet, results have started to trickle in from both the east coast and west coast and we have therefore released our first national performance list early this year. Cameron Thompson (Lakeland/Panas, Cortlandt, NY) is the early boy’s leader, improving 11 feet already over his best from last year. He is also one of four throwers already over 200 feet. With a massive state record earlier this month Maddie Rabing (Lakeridge, Lake Oswego, OR) has the narrow lead on the girl’s list over indoor national champion Kamryn Brinson (Marist, Atlanta, GA).

Although the 3k hammer (girls) and 5k hammer (boys) throw are not normally
contested in the U.S. it is conducted in some meets at the Youth level. Girls
3k performances of 140’ and boys’ 5k performances of 160’ or more in an
officially sanctioned meet will be included in the performance list providing
the athlete is no older than 17 years old through December 31, 2016
(born no earlier than in 1999).
