Big changes in the boy’s rankings this week as there were improvements among eight of the nation’s top 10 throwers. Bobby Colantonio (Barrington, RI) jumped into the national lead with his season debut at the Knights of Columbus Relays. Former national leaderMichael Feldman (Tottenville, Staten Island, NY) might sit twenty feet behind now, but improved his best for the third straight week in what has ben a very strong start to the season. The top mover on the girl’s list was Courtney Jacobsen (Toll Gate, Warwick, RI) who makes her season debut in fourth position after a win at the Knights of Columbus Relays.

Although the 3k hammer (girls) and 5k hammer (boys) throw are not normally
contested in the U.S. it is conducted in some meets at the Youth level. Girls
3k performances of 140’ and boys’ 5k performances of 160’ or more in an
officially sanctioned meet will be included in the performance list providing
the athlete is no older than 17 years old through December 31, 2016
(born no earlier than in 1999).
