Two new national leads headline this week’s national performance list. Bobby Colantonio extended his own national lead at the Irv Black Invitational with the fifth best throw of all-time. He had one of three improvements in the nation’s top 10, all by throwers out of Rhode Island. Kamryn Brinson (Marist, Atlanta, GA) regained the girl’s national lead with her second improvement in two weeks. On the girl’s side there were also three improvements among the nation’s top 10, but all by Georgia throwers.

Although the 3k hammer (girls) and 5k hammer (boys) throw are not normally
contested in the U.S. it is conducted in some meets at the Youth level. Girls
3k performances of 140’ and boys’ 5k performances of 160’ or more in an
officially sanctioned meet will be included in the performance list providing
the athlete is no older than 17 years old through December 31, 2016
(born no earlier than in 1999).
