Washington State Hammer Championships Results

For the 16th straigh year Washington high school throwers gathered for the state high school hammer throw championship. This year 43 throwers participated from across the state. State leaders Kirk Unland (Ferris, Spokane, WA) and Haleigh Sudbeck (Camas, WA) led the way as there were few surprises among the front runners. On the boy’s side Tim Beard (Kamiak, Mukilteo, WA) and Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) were just barely under their best to make it on the podium. In the girl’s competition Sudbeck not only won, but also added two feet to her season’s best. Riley Scocco (Shorewood Christian, Seattle, WA) and Joselynn Tensley (Central Valley, Veradale, WA) captured silver and bronze, while Mayyi Mahama (Pullman, WA) added seven feet to her best to take fourth place.
