12/21/17 U.S. High School Weight List
After starting the season just a half inch under the national sophomore class record, Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) improved last week to break the mark and extend his early national lead. The previous record, set nearly 13 years ago by Walter Henning, was the longest standing class record on the books for either boys or girls. With a win at the Bishop Loughlin Games this week, Jacob Furland (Classical, Providence, RI) also moved up the rankings one spot into third.
The girl’s list had massive changes this week, starting with a new national leader Shelby Moran (Sherwood, OR), who broke 60 feet in her season debut. After a mediocre first meet of the year Gianna Rao (Ponaganset, North Scituate, RI) quickly found her form and also climbed up the list this week.
