5/3/18 U.S. High School Performance List
This week’s girl’s national list had five improvements in the top ten. Leading the way was Shannah Mallett (Creekview, Canton, GA), who added ten feet to her best to move up to fifth in the nation. On the boy’s side sophomore Ruben Banks (IMG Academy, Brandenton, FL) hit a massive 25 foot improvement, taking him just inches shy of 200 feet and up to 8th in the nation.

Although the 3k hammer (girls) and 5k hammer (boys) throw are not normally
contested in the U.S. it is conducted in some meets at the Youth level. Girls
3k performances of 140’ and boys’ 5k performances of 160’ or more in an
officially sanctioned meet will be included in the performance list providing
the athlete is no older than 17 years old through December 31, 2018 (born no
earlier than in 2001).
