GAINcast Episode 274: Lessons learned

California State Hammer Championships (CA) Results

The California State Hammer Championships took place over the holiday weekend, with both winners improving their bests. Angela Schykerynec (Orland, CA) notched a new best to win the girl’s competition, while Jake Stafford (Dana Hills, CA) added nearly 10 feet to his best to win the boy’s competition.

Nike Outdoor Nationals (PA) Results

Freshman Kim Beard (Kings, Shoreline, WA) and Canadian Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, AB) captured wins at Nike Outdoor Nationals, with Kellen Kimes (Hart, MI) capturing a close battle for second with a new Michigan state record as well.

New Balance Nationals Outdoor (PA) Results

The nation’s top prep throwers converged on historic Franklin Field for New Balance Nationals. In the girl’s competition Jordan Koskondy (IMG Academy, Bradenton, FL) led from start to finish, including a new personal best in the final round to secure the win. Christian Toro (Lincoln, RI) also used a last round best to move from silver to gold in a close boys competition.
