Michael Pinckney (HS For Construction, Ozone Park, NY) racked up a big win at the US Air Force Hispanic Games on Saturday. HSHammer.com faced a reality check lately. We launched the site in 2000 to help better distribute and publicize Bob Gourley’s weekly national performance lists. Gourley started his list back in the 1990s. The high school track and field web was quiet small back then, and he distributed his lists mainly by email.

Bishop Loughlin Games (RI) Results

Big throws down in New York over the weekend. Senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan (Woonsocket, RI) broke the Ocean Breeze Track facility record with a huge toss of over 79 feet to win the Bishop Loughlin Games. Michael Pinckney (High School For Construction, Ozone Park, RI) was also over 70 feet in the competition while Aviana Rezendes (Classical, Providence, RI) won the girl’s competition.

RITCA Invitational (RI) Results

The Rhode Island season is getting under way in December with one of the first bigger meets of the season: the RITCA Invitational. On the boys side it was a huge day for the top 3 athletes, all seniors, Asher Robbins (Barrington, RI), Liam Cappoza (Barrington, RI), and Andrew Harmon (North Kingstown, RI US#5). All three hit big personal bests and Robbins also broke 70 feet for the first time. On the girls side junior Aviana Rezendes (Classical, Providence, RI) starting off her season in good fashion.

The Outdoor Nationals (OR) Results

When it is championship time, John Fay (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) shows up. At both the Rhode Island Indoor and Outdoor Championships this year, Fay came in the underdog and left as the champion. At the NSAF Outdoor Nationals he did it again with a come from behind victory and 8 foot personal best in the final round to secure the win. Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan (Woonsocket, RI) also added more than a dozen feet to his best to place second, with his teammate Logan Coles (Woonsocket, RI) in third.

Rhode Island State Championships (RI) Results

The high school season came to an end in Rhode Island yesterday with the state championship meet. State leader Sophia Gallucci (Coventry, RI) edged out the close win in the girls competition over Serena Lalli (Classical, Providence, RI). Nicolette Ducharme (Cumberland, RI) and Hayley Chartier (Lincoln, RI) had the same mark for third place, but Durcharme took the bronze based on her next best throw. In the boy’s competition John Fay (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) entered the competition seeded third, but added five feet to his personal best to take the win. Five throwers broke 200 feet in the competition.

John Fay (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, WI) made the most of throwing at home over the weekend. Competing at the 56th Annual Hendricken Invitational, Fay came within a foot of his best to win by more than 13 feet.
