US Air Force Hispanic Games (NY) Results

Michael Pinckney (HS For Construction, Ozone Park, NY) racked up a big win at the US Air Force Hispanic Games on Saturday. Gary Moore (Hillhouse, New Haven, CT) also launched a new personal best in second place. His teammate Olivia O’Connor (Hillhouse, New Haven, CT) also won the girl’s competition.

Aviana Rezendes (Classical, Providence, RI) and local thrower Myron Corpuz (Susan Wagner, Staten Island, NY) took home wins at the Ocean Breeze Freedom Games over the weekend.

Bishop Loughlin Games (RI) Results

Big throws down in New York over the weekend. Senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan (Woonsocket, RI) broke the Ocean Breeze Track facility record with a huge toss of over 79 feet to win the Bishop Loughlin Games. Michael Pinckney (High School For Construction, Ozone Park, RI) was also over 70 feet in the competition while Aviana Rezendes (Classical, Providence, RI) won the girl’s competition.

U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games (NY) Results

National leader Collin Burkhart (Nazareth Area, Nazareth, PA) took home a close win at the U.S. Air Force Hispanic Games on Saturday. Michael Pinckney (High School For Construction, Ozone Park, NY) nearly hit his personal best to come within three inches of the win, but Burkhart was able to hold on for the win. Girl’s national leader Leah Moore (Hillhouse, New Haven, CT) won the girl’s competition by more than ten feet.

NYSPHSAA/NYS Federation Championships (NY) Results

National leader Monique Hardy (Webster Thomas, Webster, NY) easily captured the New York state title on Saturday in a stacked girl’s competition. Three of the nation’s top five were competing and three girls broke 55 feet in the competition. Some big personal bests highlighted the boy’s competition. Nick Pisciotta (Commack, NY) hit 75 feet for the first time to win, and Jayden DuBard (Cheektowaga, NY) added more than four feet to his best for silver. Read more

Millrose Games (NY) Results

After a slow start to the indoor season, Monique Hardy (Webster Thomas, Webster, NY) continued to find her form on Thursday. The senior added nearly four feet to her national lead with a huge toss of 66’11.25″, also moving her up to second all-time in the nation indoors. Her made is just more than a foot off the national indoor record of 68’2.5″ set by Shelby Ashe in 2011. The throw also broke the New York state record set by Jill Shippee in 2017. Read more

Natalia Surdej (Lancaster, NY) improved her best on her final attempt at this weekend’s New Balance Games at the Armory. Currently ranked third in the nation, she continues to close in on the 60 foot barrier. Collin Burkhart (Nazareth Area, Nazareth, PA) also improved again en route to the boy’s title. Read more

Rock N’ Roll Throw-Off (NY) Results

After a stellar indoor season in 2019, Monique Hardy (Webster Thomas, Webster, NY) got off to a slow start this year. But that changed on Saturday at the Rock N’ Roll Throw-Off, where she hit a new season’s best to claim the national lead. Hometown thrower Natalia Surdej (Lancaster, NY) also had a personal best in second place, while Sean Smith (Webster Thomas, Webster, NY) improved his best to win the boy’s competition. Read more

National leader Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) made a mid-week trip down to New York to win the Millrose Games Trials competition on Wednesday. New York thrower Nick Pisciotta (Commack, NY) broke 70 feet in the competition to win and also extend his state lead. Read more

Ocean Breeze Freedom Games (NY) Results

Along with 90 competitors across town at the Hispanic Games on Saturday, 84 more throwers competed on Staten Island on Saturday. National leader Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) broke 60 feet again to win the girl’s competition by a dozen feet. John Fay (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) added more than three feet to his best to easily secure the boy’s win. Read more
