The nation’s top prep throwers converged on historic Franklin Field for New Balance Nationals. In the girl’s competition Jordan Koskondy (IMG Academy, Bradenton, FL) led from start to finish, including a new personal best in the final round to secure the win. One of two major national championships taking place over the weekend featured three of the top six of the top eight boys in the nation. Kellen Kimes (Hart, MI) led the narrow competition until Keith Daigneau (Bishop Hendricken, Warwick, RI) nearly captured the lead in the final round with a personal best. Kimes then responded with a massive improvement and best of his own. Pre-meet favorite Christian Toro (Lincoln, RI) was close in third. In the girl’s competition Mary Ella Brooks (Ralston Valley, Arvada, CO) and Jillian Leahy (Lincoln, RI) were separated by only two inches in the end, both throwing personal best and national top five marks.Read more
Rhode Island throwers continued their hot streak at New Balance Nationals Outdoor. National leaders Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan (Woonsocket, RI) won the boy’s competition, while Asher Robbins (Barrington, RI) and Michael Pinckney (HS For Construction, Ozone Park, NY) both added more than 10 feet to their best for second and third place. Liangie Calderon (Coventry, RI) was just inches off of her best to win the girl’s competition and Olivia Campbell (Pittsfield, IL) broke 160 feet for the first time to take silver.Read more

The latest Throwhawks meet in Connecticut featured several improvements, especially in he girl’s competition. Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) once again captured the win, with Trinity Cardillo (Southington, CT) adding 15 feet to her personal best in second place and Madison McGloin (Barrington, RI) also breaking 160 feet for the first time in third.
After a long delay, several Rhode Island throwers finally got to make their season debut last weekend. Cheyenne Figueroa (Classical, Providence, RI) had a massive breakthrough to win the Throwhawks Mini Meet, adding nearly 20 feet to her best from last season. Logan Coles (Woonsocket, RI) was also just a foot off of his best from 2019 to capture the win at the boy’s win. Both performances are national leads. Read more
State leaders Alliya Boothe (Bloomfield, CT) and Mike Campbell (Bloomfield, CT) both walked away with titles at the Connecticut Weight Throw Championships on Sunday. Read more
Asom Hayman-Jones (St Johnsbury, VT) and Kayle Talbot (St Johnsbury, VT) were the big winners at the Vermont Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend. The teammates captured the Division I titles and also produced the top marks across both divisions. Read more
After throwing just a half inch under his best on Friday at the Yale Interscholastic Classic on Friday, national leader Kyle Moison (Lincoln, RI) added nearly a half foot to his best on Sunday at the Dartmouth Classic. William Cauley (Barrington, RI) also broke 70 feet for the first time in the competition, while his teammate Madison McGloin (Barrington, RI) won the girl’s competition. Read more
