NTCA Throws Summit (OH) Results

With US throwing legends like Lance Deal, Jud Logan, Kibwé Johnson, and A.G. Kruger in attendance, some of the top high school throwers in the midwest came together to compete on Sunday at the NTCA Throws Summit and Conference. Last year’s state leader Jake Wickey (Medina, OH) made his season debut in spectacular fashion. His winning throw of 74’6.25″ added more than a foot to his personal best and is the second best in the country this year. Brent Fairbanks (Austintown Fitch, Youngstown, OH) also added more than four feet to his personal best to break 70 feet for the first time. Logan Kuskey (Austintown Fitch, Youngstown, OH) and Jordan Geist (Knoch, Saxonburg, PA) also nearly broke 70 feet in the competition. Read more

Ohio High School Hammer Championship Results

State leader Robert Landers (Wayne, Huber Heights, OH) walked away with the win in a close competition at the Ohio State Hammer Championship. Landers was able to hold off a strong challenge and personal best from Lane Hluch (Rootstown, OH). Logan Kusky (Austintown Fitch, Youngstown, OH) also threw a personal best for bronze. Read more

Warrior-Elk Dual Meet (OH) Results

Just days after setting a ten foot personal best, Isis Trotman (Centerville, OH) returned to the same ring and added nearly 20 more feet at a dual meet between Centerville High School and rival Wayne High School. The throw not only helped secure a win for the Centerville girl’s team, but with a distance of 175’6″ she earned the state lead and one of the top marks in the nation (the previous state leading mark was set by Kaylee Antill at 172′ on Friday). Robert Landers (Wayne, Huber Heights, OH) and James Eblen (Centerville, OH) again led the way in the boy’s competition. Wayne Invitational (OH) Results

State leader Robert Landers (Wayne, Huber Heights, OH) came within feet of his best to win the recent Wayne Invitational in Ohio. The meet featured season debuts for several other athletes led by runner-up James Eblen (Centerville, OH). In the girl’s competition Isis Trotman (Centerville, OH) led the way. With a ten foot personal best she not only easily won the competition, but also climbed up the national rankings in the process. Read more

John Glenn Invitational (OH) Results

Ohio State leader Kaylee Antill (Tri-Valley, Dresden, OH) launched a massive new best over the weekend at the John Glenn STS-95 Track and Field Invitational. At the small meet in central Ohio Antill added more than 13 feet to her best and moved up to third in the nation with her new best of 172’0″. Runner up Allie Farmer (Tri-Valley, Dresden, OH), as well as the top two finishers in the boy’s competition, also hit new bests to qualify for the national rankings for the first time. Read more

Centerville Elk Relays (OH) Results

The season is slowing gaining speed in Ohio with more good results out of Centerville over the weekend. Robert Landers (Wayne, Huber Heights, OH) improved his state lead and became the first thrower from the state to break 200 feet this year with his win at the Centerville Elk Relays. Landers finished last season just 13 inches shy of the barrier and his throw on Friday was the first time over it. The girl’s competition was won by Isis Trotman (Centerville, OH). In her season debut she was a mere two inches off of her personal best from last season. Read more
