Centralia Hammer Meet 5 (WA) Results

A ten foot improvement by Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) was the highlight of the latest meet in the Centralia Hammer Meet series on Sunday. Frost improved his personal best to 215’00” in the competition, which is currently the second best throw in the nation. Along with Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA), Washington throwers now hold the top two marks in the nation. Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA) once again won the girl’s competition, where seven out of nine competitors threw a personal best. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 4 (WA) Results

At the latest meet in the Centralia Hammer Series Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA) extended her state record by another foot and a half en route to the win. Her name mark of 178’7″ surpassed her old record set in mid-March. After winning the boy’s competition with another throw over 200 feet, Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) came back to throw a personal best with the collegiate 16-pound hammer later in the day. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 3 (WA) Results

Throwers confronted typical spring weather at the latest in the Centralia Hammer Meet series on Sunday. The girl’s competition was close, with both Carissa Stovall (Yelm, WA) and Alyssa Workman (Tualatin, OR) throwing new personal bests. In the end, Stovall won the competition with her first throw ever over 140 feet. In the boy’s competition, Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) once again broke 200 feet. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 2 (WA) Results

The Washington outdoor season is start to kick off in earnest with the second meet in the Centralia Hammer Meet series on Sunday. Leading the way was Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA), who broke the state record with a new personal best of 177’1″. The adds more than a foot to the prior record set back in 2010 by Olivia Midles. In the boy’s competition Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) hit a season’s best and broke 200 feet for the first time this year en route to the win. Later in the day he also turned in a personal best with the collegiate 16-pound hammer. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 1 (WA) Results

The outdoor season kicked off in the northwest over the weekend, with the first meet in the season-long Centralia hammer series taking place. Jordan Fong (Kentlake, WA) and Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Yelm, WA) took home the wins, with Carissa Stovall (Yelm, WA) and Hadassah Ward (Gig Harbor, WA) also making big jumps forward with throws of over 130 feet. Centralia Hammer Meet 13 (WA) Results

In the final meet of this year’s Centralia Hammer Series, state champion Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA) returned to capture another win. While she struggled in the high school competition, she hit a strong mark to win the open competition. Angus Beaton (Capital, Olympia, WA) won both the boy’s high school and open divisions. In the open division he also hit a personal best with the collegiate 16-pound implement. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 12 (WA) Results

At the latest meet in the Centralia Hammer Series Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) was the star after throwing a new personal best. The junior added nearly four feet to his personal best with a winning throw of 209’04”. Later in the competition he also added a new best with the collegiate 16-pound hammer. Read more

Region 13 USATF Junior Olympic Championship (WA) Results

Throwers from across the Pacific Northwest traveled to Spokane this weekend for the Region 13 USATF Junior Olympic Championship. The highlight of the meet was nothing less than a national freshman class record from Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA). Knight entered the competition as one of the top freshman of all-time. Already in the first round he added five feet to his best. In round three, he went even further and measured 218’8″. That added 16 feet to his pre-meet best and five feet to the national record. All six of his throws were over his old best. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meets 10 & 11 (WA) Results

Over the holiday weekend featured a double feature of meets in the northwest. On Saturday Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) was over 200 feet with the 12-pound hammer and added a new personal best with the 16-pound implement to close in on the national lead. Sunday featured more competitors, another good throw by Frost, and a close girl’s competition. Read more
