Centralia Hammer Meet 9 (WA) Results

Junior Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) extended his personal best and state lead at the most recent Centralia meet on Tuesday. Frost also continues to move up the all-time top 10 throwers in state history. In the girl’s competition Karlee Freeman (Raymond, WA) extended her personal best in both the high school and open competitions. At the end of the day her new best measured 141’07”, more than 10 feet over her old best. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 8 (WA) Results

After breaking 200 feet for the first time last weekend, Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) once again surpassed the barrier on Saturday. He won the boy’s competition while Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA) added four feet to her best as the top high school girl at the meet. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 7 (WA) Results

Junior Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) broke 200 feet for the first time at the latest Centralia hammer meet. Frost had come close to the barrier earlier this season and placed second at the Washington State Hammer Championships last weekend. But it wasn’t until today that he finally surpassed 200, becoming the 16th thrower in state history to break the barrier. Read more

Washington State Hammer Championships Results

For the 17th straight year, the top hammer throwers in Washington State met at the state high school hammer championship. This year the event took place in Spokane and had 42 competitors. Freshman Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) captured the win by more than ten feet and also broke 200 feet for the first time ever. This better his own state freshman record, and also made him just the fourth freshman in the country to ever break 200 feet. The girl’s competition was led by Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA), who threw a personal best in a dominating win by more than 25 feet. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 6 (WA) Results

Gabriella Frost (Interlake, Bellevue, WA) hit two personal best at the most recent Centralia meet. With just one week until the state championship, Frost threw a best of 136’1″ in the high school competition and then came back to break 140 feet in the open competition. Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA), no relation, won the boy’s competition as the top four remained the same as the last meet in the series. Read more

Many of the top Washington high school boys faced off last at the latest Centralia meet. Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) won, but impressive depth and personal bests from the rest of the field really highlighted the meet, including a 20 foot personal best by runner up Scott Bonagofski (Centralia, WA). In a showdown of the top two throwers in the state at the latest Centralia meet, freshman Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) captured the win and was just two feet off of his personal best. State leader Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) finished a close second. Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA) won the girl’s competition while Gabriella Frost (Interlake, Bellevue, WA) was runner-up and set personal bests in both the high school and open competitions. At the latest Centralia hammer meet, junior Jordan Fong (Kentlake, Kent, WA) hit a big throw of 159’10” to win the girl’s competition, while Gabriella Frost (Interlake, Bellevue, WA) took second with a personal best. Ian Frost (Mary M. Knight, Elma, WA) won the boy’s competition. Read more

Centralia Hammer Meet 2 (WA) Results

At the second Washington meet of the year, freshman Trey Knight (Ridgefield, WA) made his season debut. During the indoor season Knight set a new national freshman class record in the weight throw. In his first meet outdoors on Saturday he added more than 10 feet to his personal best and more than 10 feet to the Washington state freshman class record set by Zack Richards 12 years ago. It was a strong day for freshman all around as freshman Ava David (Lake Oswego, OR) also won the girl’s competition with a new personal best. Read more
